We just got rid of a 99, seemed like a neat thing... I never got to drive it, what do you think of yours?^ You obviously kept it for so long for a reason...

Captain Carnage wrote: We just got rid of a 99, seemed like a neat thing... I never got to drive it, what do you think of yours?^ You obviously kept it for so long for a reason... Mine is a 2002, but I bought it in 2005. I was mistaken on the year I took it off-roading, it was actually 2006. As for the truck itself, I've enjoyed it, however it has it's issues. It sucks on gas, and with the colder weather it's pretty noisy/rattley. As well, the GV's are notorious for the front differential leaking. They suffer from bad seals I've heard. Only time it is an issue is when I drop it into 4 Hi or 4 Lo. That's when you can smell the fluid. I hardly ever put it in 4x4 though unless I want to tromp on the gas through some deep snow in the winter (not an issue in Kingston I hear). I have mine lifted 2.5" in the front and back via spacers on the suspension (a lift kit my buddy designed and built) and am running 235/70/16 tires. Gives it a bit more clearance but nothing crazy. No crazy articulation that's for sure. I'm not planning on replacing it until 2012 as I have to wait until my fiancee is finished school and we're back to being DINKs.
