as some of you know, I got a non-SRS JDM ITR wheel from TRU (awesome wheel, and great guy to deal with) as the wheel is a little older the leather around the outside has become worn and not shinny, there is no physical damage to the leather, it just doesnt look like showroom condition anymore... is there any cheap ways to get quality results, aside from getting it re-wrapped? any sorta of clear coat or leather repair shit that I dont know about? help a brother out.... discuss

I know this isin't what you want, but usually there's some nice (leather) re-wrap kits that you do yourself. I'm missing the lace to put mine on (Water condenses on it and it freezes overnight). I've heard of someone using this kit with a cheap areosol-style airbrush instead of the crappy brushes in the kit http://www.leatherrepairkits.com/repair_kit.shtml

My dad taught me the trick , he has been doing it for 23 years on his vette , wheel looks new. Now , for bigger jobs there is leathertique , a friend of mine just restored a 86 M6 BMW and used this kit , it was about $400 for the whole interior , but I kid you now , it looks like new .. brand , damm new. well worth it http://www.leatheriquecanada.com/

I havnt had any come off yet... as long as you let it dry of 15 min. then buff it to a shine it shouldn't come off its weird when you first put in on and its a dull flat black... then it dries the same.... but you have to remove the dried shit and it comes to a decent shine... and still looks remotely like leather... not spray paint
